Close to Home, 4 and the Songs Behind the Aitch Designs
Almost every design in the shop points back to an album, a single or a bit of Manchester. Here's the guide to what's on each one, and where it comes from.
Which designs are about 4?
4 is the album I released in June 2025, named after my M40 postcode. The 4 Moston Lane design fills a giant number 4 with a red collage: a yellow moon, a bee, a heart-shaped cloud and a Moston Lane street sign over the rooftops, with my name in script on the back.
What about Close to Home?
My 2022 debut album has a cover that shows me in a hoodie with a crude drawing of a house on it. That house turns up across the collection:
- The brush logo: lime-green brush letters around the little house, with Close to Home in script.
- The house sketch: the house on its own, smoke curling from the chimney, with the logo on the back.
- The handwritten one: just the words close to home in loose, pale handwriting.
Which singles get a design?
- Learning Curve: my 2021 Silver single, once in golden varsity letters with my signature and once wrapped around a drippy smiley.
- Wait: my 2019 single, with a vintage alarm clock and a signed tag.
What's with the smileys?
I use a Smiley as my own logo, so it pops up on the Smiley Trio design and inside the Learning Curve circle.
And the rest?
The drama lettering and the DC40 motorway sign nod to Drama Call, the Manchester streetwear label that teamed up with me on capsule collections. The Manchester 0161 design puts the city's phone code under my name in red college letters.
